Whew, it’s hot! Woke up this morning and took the puppies for their morning walk at around 7am and it was already heating up. Yesterday had to be one of the hottest days that I can recall, and today may be even worse! I decided to go to the Honolulu Club to play squash … and it wasn’t for the exercise, but because I’d be in an air-conditioned facility! The place was packed with people who had the same idea as me and wanted to get out of the heat. This weather’s gotta cool off in the next day or two or I might do something crazy like wash my car in the nude! Gross!
We kicked off the Labor Day weekend at Lulu’s on Friday, and boy, was it a blast! The place was packed with friends and family who came down to celebrate our final night that was filled with hugs, tears, and shots, shots, and more shots, courtesy of the Hawai’i Kai gang! On Saturday we performed at a wedding at the Dillingham Lodge out in Mokuleia (never knew the place even existed) which reminded me of the Waimea Cottages on Kaua’i with separate rooms, bungalows, and a community center. Very nice and private. Then on Sunday, we all helped Alex & Sarah with their garage sale in preparation for their move to LA later this month. And finally later that evening, Nick left on his 2-month “Discover America” journey… just gonna drive around the country and see what pops up. Interesting ….
We have one more hana hou performance on Saturday, Sept. 20th, at Gordon Biersch, 6 to 10:30pm. We wanted to play and party with our friends and family one more time before we say aloha to Alex, so please come on down and enjoy!
Aloha, “D”
