Busy, busy, busy ….

Aloha kakahiaka, my friends!

Woke up to another beautiful cool and breezy Manoa morning … a welcome relief from the awful heat and humidity of the past week!  I’ve been so busy the last couple of months that it’s really starting to affect me physically and emotionally … but there will be ample time to rest come 2015 after Alex & Nick begin their new adventures and ManoaDNA can take a break.  People have been asking me, “So what are you going to do next?” … to tell you the truth, I haven’t even begun to think about it since there’s still a lot of stuff to do before the year is over – both for ManoaDNA and ‘IOLANI.  Change is the name of the game, and believe me, you will be seeing LOTS of changes for both!

It was an AWESOME night at Kani Ka Pila last Saturday as many of our friends and family joined us for our final regular Saturday performance there.  It’s been a great 8-year run for ManoaDNA and I’m so thankful and appreciative to Luana and her staff for everything they did to make us feel so at home … I hope we’ll be able to perform there again someday.  Our last Lulu’s gig will be on Aug. 29th, and then we have a couple of special events including our last “blow-out” jam session at Gordon Biersch on Sept. 20th before Alex & Nick leave.  We will also be touring Japan from Nov. 1st to 9th, and will be performing in Yokohama (11/2 @ Thumbs Up), Tokyo (11/4 @ Harajuku Crocodile) Nagoya (tbd), and Sapporo (11/6 @ KRAPS Hall).

And since I just had a “senior moment” and accidentally pressed the “send” button for this blog, I’m going to end it now and save the rest for tomorrow … hahaha!

Aloha, “D”
