First off, I want to AGAIN thank you for tuning into HI*Sessions yesterday! This project continues to be REALLY fun, and your support means I to continue to do what I love for a long time! Mahalo!
Secondly, I want to say boo on you for not responding to my last question, “What did you do for your 30th birthday?!” Because no one responded, I am going to sit here and pout until you say sorry. Go on… I’m pouting… For real… This is serious… Pay attention to me!! Haha.
Anyway, it’s been a long time since I updated you, so there’s a lot to talk about! First up, is the Punahou Alumni tournament! For those of you who follow Alx & I on the Twitter/Insta-sphere, you saw these awesome uniforms we debuted at the tournament! We’re bringing knickers back in honor of Payne Stewart! Go buy yours today!
This week, I made a couple of trips to the Big Island of Hawai’i, one for vacation and one for work. The first trip allowed me a little break from the action, and I had the chance to make chocolate mochi! Mmmm, nothing like fresh mochi!
The second trip was with ManoaDNA for the Keck Observatory anniversary party! We didn’t start playing till 9:00pm, but the crowd was really fun and the sound system was amazing! In my (somewhat conceited) opinion, we sounded great and it had a lot to do with our soundman Paul and his system. This will definitely be one of those gigs I remember forever!
Finally, a little food-pron for all you foodies out there. While I was in Kona, I got to try “Ippy’s Hawaiian BBQ,” known for their famous chef Ippy! To my surprise, sitting next to mainland chain Arby’s, this restaurant had “Whole Fried Opelu” on the menu. “I’ll have that, please.” I said with a smile. In the words of my brother, it was #onz.
Overall it was a really busy week of travel (even if it only was a short distance), so I’m taking a half day off today to get my bearings back! ManoaDNA is back in action Wednesday at the Hyatt, so hopefully you can take some time out of your humpday for a little pau hana! Speaking of pau hana, where’s your favorite place to go and eat & drink after a good day’s work? Doesn’t have to be in Hawai’i, since I’m always looking for suggestions!
ALOHA!
