Aloha Friday, 4/27 …..
We got an early start this morning since we had to be down at the FM105 KINE studios for an Aloha Friday live session with Billy V. Of course we all had a blast with Billy and bruddah Aaron along with DJs Bruddah Wade and Sista Sherry … even ran into Alan Yamamoto who had us try a bacon-flavored candy cane. And yup, it was gross …
After we had finished the session, we headed over to Morning Glass, a small open-air coffee bistro near our home in beautiful Manoa Valley. I was excited to try it because I had heard a lot of good things about the place from friends.  The coffee was outstanding – each cup is individually brewed, making each sip so fresh and flavorful! I also tried one of their home-baked blueberry scones which was awesome too … so many blueberries, yet light and airy. Alex and Mark ordered the breakfast burrito which Alex recommended, and after having a bite, I will definitely have to order it the next time I go there (which may be tomorrow morning!). I was definitely ready for a nap after that great meal, but we had another radio session with our pals DJ Pele Reiko and Hiroko over at Studio Rim at noon, then I had a doctor’s appointment after that. We finish up tonight at Lulu’s ….
Saturday, 4/28:
Good morning, peeps!
Great fun at Lulu’s last night! Mahalo to Scott and his friends for coming down to party with us again (no more shots, please!) along with a lot of our fans from Japan. Also met a nice group from Ohio who are here for their first Hawai’i visit … they decided to stop in when they heard our music while passing by. We’ll be performing at the SPAM Jam tonight down in Waikiki at the 8:30pm, so come and enjoy a great evening of food and music … and don’t worry – not everything will have SPAM in it! I went and played some squash this morning with my buddy, Mark, and then stopped in at our IOLANI ON KONA ST. store where Michi was busy with several customers … and with Golden Week and Mother’s Day coming up, I’m sure we’ll be pretty busy for the next couple of weeks. After I left IOLANI I stopped off at the Honolulu Burger Co. to pick up a couple of their local beef burgers and an order of their sweet potato fries with the special honey dijon mustard dipping sauce. So ONO!! Day’s not over yet though … before we go to the SPAM Jam tonight we have to attend the wedding of one of our dear friends, Moanilei, over at the Bishop Museum. Speaking of the Bishop Museum, we’ll be performing there tomorrow night on the Great Lawn for the Taste of the Nation fundraiser.
Aloha, “D”
