Kokua Japan concert

Aloha kakahiaka, friends!  Another beautiful Sunday morning here in paradise as I sit here with my coffee and start preparing for another busy day … yes, there is no rest for the weary!  ManoaDNA is performing this afternoon at the Kokua Japan concert / telethon over at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.  We are honored to be sharing the stage with such great musicians like Willie Nelson, Jack Johnson, Michael McDonald, and other top entertainers from both here and the mainland.  We’ll be going on at 2:25pm and are performing only 2 songs because this it’s a telethon and time is so tight.  We hope to take a lot of pictures today to share with all of you!

Kani Ka Pila was PACKED last night!  It was standing-room only throughout the entire evening with many visitors, friends, and family in attendance.  I was very happy to see many of our Japanese friends in the audience – Eriko, Mayumi, Sae, Shion, Nao, Hana, Makoto, Take, Yutaka, Masako, Eri, Daisuke, Sumi, and the rest (sorry – I wasn’t able to get your names!).  Also want to send a big mahalo out to Kale and his gang for whooping it up with us – great to see you too, Kimo – and to Lynn, Ann, Tom, Mary, Bill, Joanne, Coach Gordie, Brian, Kaleo, Sam … thanks for coming to KKPG!  And finally (whew!) … big HAPPY BIRTHDAYS! to Erica, Eric, and Brian!

And for you golfers .. yesterday I shot an 87 out at Waialae which is pretty lousy.  But here’s the upsetting part – I was even par going into #9, before double-bogeying #10 for a front-nine score of 38.  It was all downhill after that as I then proceeded to shoot a gigantic 49 on the back!  Talk about a super meltdown … man, I SUCK!

Music joke of the day:  What do bass players use for contraception?  Their personalities .. get it?!  hahahaaaa!!!
