What Did You Do This Weekend?

What a weekend! I mean, WHAT A WEEKEND! ManoaDNA was all over the place, spreading the Aloha and playing some good music!

First it was off to the Honolulu Civic Grounds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Hawai’i’s Big Fundraiser. There was some rain, so it wasn’t packed, but those that stuck around were treated to some great entertainment. The picture above is the Eric Lee Band, who performed before us.

Saturday night, we had our normally scheduled event down at Kani Ka Pila. Not only was it a ManoaDNA Saturday, but it was also Mom’s birthday party! All her friends and our family came down and celebrated the night away. ManoaDNA and family also ended up staying overnight at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. What a beautiful hotel!

It's Karaoke time! ManoaDNA is on the judges panel for the KZOO 30th Annual Karaoke contest today! えんか Pride!

Finally, we ended the weekend as judges for the 30th Annual KZOO Karaoke Contest. Amateur karaoke singers from around Hawai’i sang their best Japanese songs, while a panel of 13 judges (including ManoaDNA) scored them. The two best singers were crowned champion and scored trips to Japan to compete in Tokyo. It was a great time, and a great treat for ManoaDNA!

Finally, on a side note, our good friend Michelle sent us this picture of a ManoaDNA t-shirt sighting! From the Polynesian Cultural Center, a man in the row in front of her was supporting ManoaDNA! Thanks to Michelle for sending in the picture, and thanks to the dude for showing some pride! If you spot something with ManoaDNA on it, tweet it to ManoaDNA or show us on Facebook!
