Aloha Friday, 7/2

Good morning, peeps!  It’s the start of the 4th of July weekend – one of our nation’s biggest holiday weekends celebrating freedom and independence.  Other than our regular performances at Lulu’s tonight and Kani Ka Pila tomorrow, I am planning on spending a restful weekend at home getting ready for our upcoming July tour in Japan and the opening of our new IOLANI on Kona St. boutique.  Oh, oh … gotta take our puppies for their morning walk … be back in a few ….

I’m baaaacck!  Our walk was cut short because it was raining, although it was more a typical “Manoa mist” rather than a downpour.  Anyway, we had a nice dinner with my mom at Arcadia last night.  It’s always a little weird having dinner in a room filled with older people, but they’re always so nice and gracious and my mom loves introducing us to everyone!  The portions they serve are pretty small (I guess because older people don’t eat as much)  but the food is tasty and the staff is great.  I had the crab cakes (which was delicious!) while some of the others had filet mignon …. and I really enjoy their Kona coffee yogurt dessert, which I order every time.  The funny thing is that we sometimes have to stop at McDonald’s afterward to get more to eat (but don’t tell my mom!). 🙂

Aloha, “D”
