A great Saturday morning to all! It’s a cool and crisp morning here in Manoa – but there’s very little wind and it looks like the vog is back due to the Kona weather we’ve been having the past couple of days. The Sony Open finally got underway at Waialae yesterday, and Nick & Alex’s jobs were to escort the pros from the 18th green after they were done with their round … what a great experience! The weather should be beautiful for the rest of the weekend so I think there are going to be some very low scores!
Since the boys were working at the Sony Open yesterday, I went down to the Studio Rim studios to record some radio shows with DJs Pele Reiko and Hiroko Iijima. As always, we had a lot of fun talking story and laughing our butts off! And because it was only me yesterday, we talked about my music past from when I was a little kid. In recalling my younger days, I suddenly realized how many great experiences I had and some of the great musicians that I met along the way. Reiko gave me some omiyage of “Hayashi-ya” tsukudani and nori which she received from her friend in Sapporo, Osamu Hirabayashi. I can’t wait to try it!
Have a great weekend, everybody!  Aloha, “D”
