I love the Christmas season … traffic gridlock, crowded malls, parties galore, and the smell of pine trees in the air! By the way, how many Santa’s are there really?? I mean every time I turn around there’s a Santa parade – Manoa, Hawai’i Kai, Kailua – you name it, he’s there! And they all come in different shapes and sizes too! I’m confused …..
We had a great time over at the Pacific Beach Hotel last night where ManoaDNA performed for the annual Hawai’i Blood Bank Christmas party. I love performing during the holiday season because everyone seems so happy and festive! I’d like to send a big mahalo out to Donna and Dr. Robyn Yim for inviting us to be a part of their special evening! Since we had some time to kill before our performance, the boys and I were wandering through the lobby of the hotel when we ran into our good friend, Bruce Shimabukuro, brother of Jake. He just opened a new ukulele store called The Uke Box located right there in the ground floor shopping section. It’s a great little store so if you’re ever in the area, drop by and check out the ukes, maybe take a lesson, or just chat … Bruce is a great guy, very talented, and fun to hang out with!
We’re performing at the Ala Moana Center Stage at 12 noon today for a Lokahi fundraiser along with other fellow entertainers who are all donating their time to try and raise donations for families in need during these holidays. After we’re done performing, we head on out to Aloha Stadium to enjoy some tailgating action before watching our beloved Warriors kick some UNLV butt!!! Yeeehaaa!!
