Aloha everyone! It was another long night in the recording studio last night, but I think we finished almost all of the tracks for the new Japan CD. Milan, our engineer, still needs to mix & master the recordings before we send it to Japan but I’m glad the bulk of the work is done! Credit Alex for arranging the studio time, Milan, and other musicians, in order to meet this weekend’s deadline – well done, Alex! Last night, our good friend Tony Conjugacion came down to record the DOWN IN PARADISE / KA BEAUTY O MANOA medley and he was awesome! This was the same medley we performed live at last year’s Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, for which we received so many compliments that we decided to record it for our next CD. It was so good to hook up with Tony again! We’re back at Lulu’s again tonight, but Nick won’t be with us – he had a prior committment – so sitting in for him will be Jack Ofoia, of the Mana’o Company. Jack’s a good buddy of ours who we traveled to Japan with several times … he not only is an outstanding musician, but is also a great guy.
So come on down and join us at Lulu’s tonight or Kani Ka Pila Grille tomorrow evening. We’ll also be performing at the Ukulele Picnic tomorrow afternoon at around 4;30pm.
Aloha, “D”
