Howdy, peeps! Got some much needed rest last night … especially after a performance-filled weekend and another hectic Monday. I’m still getting a lot of emails from people talking about the KOKUA FOR JAPAN telethon fundraiser last Sunday which raised $1.6 million in donations for Japan’s disaster victims. If you didn’t see it, you missed out an amazing event put on for a good cause …
ManoaDNA has one more benefit performance before it heads up to Japan for Golden Week. Nick and I will be going up a couple of days earlier to join some of the Hawai’i Tourism Japan staff who are going up to Sendai and Miyagi prefecture to bring supplies to the evacuation shelters there. Although we’re a little apprehensive about all the aftershocks and the nuclear crisis that’s going on up there, we are looking forward to going and consider it a privilege to be able to go and help bring some aloha and smiles to those people who are facing so much hardship. Unfortunately, Alex will be unable to join us since he has to finish up his classes at UH, but will meet us in Tokyo along with our bass player, Mark, after we return from Sendai. ManoaDNA’s 2011 Golden Week tour with HTJ starts on Friday, 4/29, at Ikspiari Live, followed by performances in Odaiba, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka.  For more details as they develop, please check our manoadna.com website … mahalo!
Aloha, “D”
Is it possible that I heard you n Hawaii Five-0 last night? The scene where McGarrett is leaving the hospital…Great job on the fundraiser. All for a good cause.
Mahalo, John
Mahalo, John – no, I don’t think it was our music although it would have been cool to be on the show! The fundraiser was amazing and we were very honored to be a part of it!
